Our criteria was: 4 lads, near our mountain bike routes, breakfast, showers, secure bike storage, rugged as we would come back covered in mud etc, so no cream carpets posh tea cups any where.
This place ticked the lot, brilliant.
Friendly staff, lots of whiskey at the bar.
Lots of information on local bike routes, climbs, walks etc.
We will be back, no doubt about it.
Thanks for facilitating our stag do.
Stayed: September 2018, travelled with friends

8 lads on a Mountain Biking trek. Great place for locking up the bikes securely, Beds great and Breakfast included was spot on. Licensed Bar with range of local Ales on Tap. Sky TV and Wifi ( signal in most of the house ) in the restaurant room for the football / news etc, but you go there to be outdoors, so it was more of a convenient base, What you pay per person it’s brilliant for the level you get, it’s warm and with tiled / wooden floors after being outdoors it’s the place you want to go for Wales for Climbers, Mtb or trekkers alike.
Friendly staff and the owner was really knowledgeable and on hand of all local activities and when I needed wrapping up with Ice after a crash, he was kind enough to give me a hand, nice guy.
Different types of rooms for different scenario’s, so they have rooms with 6 comfy proper wooden bunks and then Family rooms as well.
Location was 5-10 minute walk to the centre of everything, shops, restaurants, cafe’s and pubs. Betws-y-Coed although small has lots of nice shops, gift shops and an awesome walk and amazing views of the river, plus it’s 30 min drive to Coed Brenin Bike Trails and 20 mins to Antur with more local trails 5-10mins away.
24hr petrol station just down the road too.
Definitely going back.
Review of The Vagabond
Reviewed yesterday via mobile
6 of us stayed here whilst spending the weekend cycling. We had a six bed dorm to ourselves.
The vagabond is comfortable and friendly with a bar. Breakfast is great – full English!
Great location and good place to stay with a group when biking / walking the area.
Definitely would stay again!
