“The Vagabond Bunkhouse, does what it says on the Tin.

Posted on: December 23rd, 2017 by Neil

Tucked away off the A5 main road through tourist honeypot of Betws-y-Coed, The Vagabond is a quiet, clean and well run Bunkhouse. Breakfasts can be provided (extra cost) or the usual DIY rules apply.. as well as Evening Meals, pre-booking is required. This particular Bunkhouse, even has it own bar!! Very convenient for those with a thirst and sore legs/feet, who do not feel the need to peruse the bars and pubs in the town centre after a long day on the hills.

The rooms are basic, the bunk beds comfortable and the facilities are all functional, teh showers are hot and powerful. The welcome we got was warm and knowledgeable. It is handily located to take in a wide range of local activities, in the middle of the Snowdonia National Park and close by there are the usual local shops and stores. Handily for me and my fellow travellers the Snowdonia Mountains are all within easy reach… so a walking we did go.

Betws-y-Coed.. is a nice place to visit but I would avoid the weekends in Spring/Summer, the sheer numbers of tourists and day trippers make the place busier than Piccadilly Circus…

Brilliant little bunk house with good facilities. Forgot to order evening meal prior to arriving , owner sprang to rescue with chilli and chips. One nights accommodation evening meal and breakfast only came to 45 gbp….bargain. very close to all other amenities in the area and good lock up for bikes. Would recommend.

Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a weekend away on a budget or with a few friends. 8 of us stayed total, and all enjoyed our stay. Well worth the money paid.
Owner/manager very welcoming, very laid back and helpful. Amenities are decent and well looked after.
Place does food if required. Bar on site, which is always a bonus. In the very centre of a lovely town, and not far from snowdon.
Thank you, and see you again 🙂
