“Great Bunkhouse, Excellent Service!”

Posted on: May 9th, 2013 by Neil

As the organiser of a group of 14 and having never stayed at the Vagabond before you can imagine my apprehension on arrival. However I very quickly realised that I had nothing to worry about, Mark the Manager could not do enough to help us settle in and on quick inspection you could easily see that the place was nice and clean. The next test was the food and after a day’s mountain biking we had all worked up a good appetite. No fear, the food was excellent as was the locally brewed ale, served from their small but well stocked bar. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the Vagabond, the staff could not have been more friendly. One small criticism would be the lack of an electricity socket in the 6 berth room, I do believe though that Mark has this in hand. Already looking forward to next time.

“Great place for groups and mountain bikers”

Posted on: May 9th, 2013 by Neil

Stayed here with a large group of fellow mountain bikers recently. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and tidy and the food was excellent. The bar was also good value and welcoming (we never made it to any of village pubs!). At £30 pp including breakfast and dinner it was very good value.

The surrounding area is beautiful with some of the best MTB trail centres I have ever ridden (The Beast @ Coed y brenin is particularly good).

Overall I would definitely recommend and stay again.

“Great place to stay!”

Wonderful place to stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, and the accommodation was clean, secure and comfortable.
I had a great time at the Vagabond and met some fascinating people.
It’s a great base to visit the local beauty spots. I went to the Fairy Glen and to the Swallow Falls, both beautiful places, but it would also be a good place for those looking for more adventurous trips.
The town is small but interesting, and has everything you might need. The two churches are both beautiful in their different ways, and the little suspension bridge was a great surprise.
Thank you to everyone at the Vagabond.
